The blade holder has a serrated thumb rest for enhanced control, and a thumb stud for quick, one-hand opening. The zipper blade guts big game easily with minimal risk to cutting hair or internal organs. The replaceable blade utilizes a lockback, and the zipper blade has a liner-lock.
